This is a transformational learning program for 3^rd-5^th grade girls. We teach life skills through dynamic, conversation-based lessons and running games. The program culminates with the girls being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5k running event. The goal of the program is to encourage confidence through accomplishment while establishing an appreciation of health and fitness.

Learn how to beat your dad at chess!  Chess Club will include plenty of playing time and learning of advanced chess strategies.  Students will learn tournament rules and the use of chess clocks, as well as other strategy games for brain-enhancement.  Coach Steve Lampkin has been a chess coach for over 20 years and a tournament director at many national events.  Several of his students have been rated in the top 100 players for their age.

Yoga for ages 2 to 6 is fun and helpful for children whose bodies are rapidly developing. The use of animated poses and basic stretching exercises promote strength, flexibility, coordination and body awareness. Kids will improve concentration while stimulating their imagination, resulting in healthy, relaxed and focused children.

This fun and empowering class will use popular music combined with free flowing yoga sequencing for the ultimate Yoga Dance Experience. The group will learn a choreographed

 yoga dance in the last few sessions building on the foundations from what they have learned in the first few weeks. This is a 10-week program being offered for the first time in this area.

Ormond Beach Tennis Center is offering an awesome opportunity for our St. James 3^rd-5^th graders!!  Students will learn the fundamentals of tennis with the convenience of being next door to the school!! Students will learn conditioning and footwork appropriate to tennis, scoring, basic rules, and correct form for forehand and backhand strokes!! All equipment is provided by the tennis center!!! This gymnastics program for beginners is designed to improve student’s flexibility, strength, and coordination while teaching and developing gymnastics skills.  Classes are taught by trained instructors with over 13 years of experience and will include warm-up, stretch, floor exercises, gymnastics skills, obstacles, and drills.

Older students will be learning cheerleading and practicing school based cheers!
